Job Title: Center for Arab Narratives Program Assistant
Job Status: Part-time
Job Summary: Under general supervision, the CAN Program Assistant uses intermediate skills obtained through education, experience, and training to coordinate programs and research projects. The CAN Program Assistant will support by performing a variety of administrative duties, while collaborating with interdepartmental teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Arrange meetings, schedule appointments, complete travel arrangements
Manage administrative projects of assigned division including but not limited to check requests and reimbursements, recordkeeping, program reporting, consumer satisfaction surveys
Assist with planning and execution of events
Collect, compile records, or otherwise gather data and prepare custom reports with information necessary for decision-making
Coordinate, organize and align activities and various task to achieve common goals
Complete assignments that include creating and proofreading correspondence, forms, tables, and reports
Facilitate interdepartmental communication and interactions between internal and external parties
Conduct research, compile information and data to present findings to supervisor or to prepare presentations
Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Basic concepts, principles and practices of research facilitation
Arab American community
Skill in:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office
Ability to:
Work both independently and as part of a team, in a highly efficient and organized manner
Work on several projects concurrently, prioritize and complete in timely manner
Track progress on tasks and handle follow-up as needed
Handle confidential information with sensitivity and integrity
Maintain high level of attention to detail
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Analyze and troubleshoot problems
Provide a high level of customer service
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
Minimum Degree Required:
Associate degree
Bachelor-s degree preferred
Required Disciplines:
Arab American Studies, Ethnic Studies, Public Health, History, Sociology, Anthropology, Middle Eastern Studies, or related field
and
Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources

Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be required
