Shopko Optical is seeking Production Technicians to join our team at our light duty manufacturing facility in De Pere, Wisconsin. First Shift has a \$500 Sign on Bonus, Monday-Friday 5am- 1:30pm POSITION SUMMARY: Fabricate eyewear in an efficient and timely manner. Provide quality products and services to stores. Perform key functions within the Finish Department efficiently, accurately and in detail. Ensure Optical Lab standards are followed, and service levels are maintained with the direction and guidance of the Production Manager Finish Taking Care of our Teams who Take Care of our Patients Competitive Wages , Production incentives, Attendance Awards 401K with Match Vacation Pay/Personal Day Volunteer Time Off Sick Pay for Hourly Teammates Health & Wellbeing Benefits Voluntary/Cafeteria Offerings Employee Assistance Program On the Job Training & Certification Teammate Recognition Program DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PRODUCTION OPERATIONS Operate sophisticated optical manufacturing equipment Work with specialized equipment and precision hand tools Adjust lenses and frames to correct alignment Mount, secure and align finished lenses in frames or optical assemblies using precision hand tools Shape lenses appropriately for insertion into frames Assemble eyeglass frames and attach shields, nose pads and temple pieces using pliers, screwdrivers and drills Examine prescriptions, work orders or broken or used eyeglasses to determine specifications for lenses, contact lenses or other optical elements Perform functions to produce work that meets standards for quality and accuracy Maintain production output standards Partner with team to continuously improve processes MAINTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT Follow all company and lab policies and guidelines Adhere to safety guidelines and OSHA regulations Ensure machinery is operating effectively Ensure orders are fabricated only if a work ticket is provided Fabricate all orders in accordance with the ANSI and company standards Understand chemicals prior to use Follow Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDA) procedures Follow lock-out tag-out and Haz Com procedures Perform stretching before reporting to workstation MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduate or equivalent preferred Optical experience a plus, but not required Demonstrate ability to learn and perform production related functions Strong written and oral communication skills Interpersonal skills Self-motivated and detail-oriented Ability to multi-task and prioritize ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS: Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication Able to read and write at a high school level Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time Able to operate various office equipment and Optical Lab equipment Demonstrate physical agility (bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, reaching, etc.) on a repetitive basis Ability to lift an average of 25 pounds on a repetitive basis Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception) Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness Ability to grip and hold items Good eye and hand coordination Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development These statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by teammates assigned to this job classification.
