Carnival Cruise Line Manager, Maintenance in Dawson City, Yukon Territory

We’re looking for an amazing maintenance professional to fill this role, which is based in our Dawson City office. You’ll be responsible for overseeing of maintenance and technical operations of the Dawson City Hotel to include main building, 3 guest buildings, employee housing and all other structures onsite along with their operating systems. Managing year-round and seasonal maintenance team.

Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line and Princess is looking for in its Manager, Facilities Maintenance. Is this you?

Responsibilities:

  • Manage hotel maintenance activities on a daily basis.

  • Outline and manage LMMS system and safety training for FT and seasonal team

  • Apply knowledge of equipment, systems and facilities maintenance to include carpentry, HVAC, mechanical and groundskeeping and provide guidance to team

  • Assists in preparation of and manages departmental budget

  • Performs and/or maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, startup and shutdown of facility, daily maintenance requests, vehicle inspections, HESS & SAY initiatives

  • Works with other departments to ensure equipment is functioning in a safe manner

  • Provide regular training to team members in line with HAP guidelines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • Journeyman, post-secondary technical certification, boiler certification

  • Licensed in carpentry, electrical, mechanical plumbing or HVAC preferred

  • 4 years progressively responsible positions in hotel property or facilities maintenance

  • Current, valid Canadian driver’s license

  • Proficiency in computer proficiency (Microsoft platforms)

  • Ability to prioritize work, support time constraints, meet deadlines, supervise, and lead team and work with guest requests/inquiries.

  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees, management and guests.

  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines, including company health and safety standards.

  • Must pass pre-employment background verification

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).
