Position Overview


  • Collect and calculate data from manufacturing facilities related to EH&S compliance. This will include all applicable permits and plans.

  • Monitor/audit various programs that track and measure facility compliance efforts, utilizing Medgate/RMIS and other functional tools.

  • Complete field work as necessary to monitor and assist facilities with EHS tasks. (Waste samples, opacity readings, noise surveys, industrial hygiene, etc.).

  • Compile program, plans, and plant guidance as necessary, for ensuring conformance to local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

  • Provide on-site assistance to facilities instituting new program requirements or revamping existing programs. Requires overnight travel as necessary to accommodate all locations.

  • Work at various Shaw manufacturing locations assisting in compliance related activities as identified through compliance audits and other assessments, and for special projects identified by Risk Management.

  • Compile and prepare reports to meet corporate regulatory reporting deadlines.

  • Assist in responding to facility environmental emergencies (chemical spills, I-team investigations, equipment problems, etc.), and accompanying agency regulatory inspections.

  • Conduct Environmental and Health/Safety Compliance Audits to ensure compliance and to support continuous improvement as required for Shaw locations nationally. Compile reports of audits to communicate concerns to appropriate facility and divisional resources. Requires overnight travel.

  • Provide analysis of all data related to EHS performance at various facilities and divisions using applicable RMIS data tools. This would include analysis of injury trends, first aids, near miss incidents, environmental permits (air, water), etc. Develop metrics to track and report to plant management, upper management.

Position Requirements:

  • 4 year degree; Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety or other science-based discipline preferred.

  • 2+ years EHS experience preferred

  • Proficiency to operate in a PC, windows based environment; must have working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and Google applications.

  • Approach job and community responsibilities with a professional attitude.

  • Must be able to work off shift as necessary

  • Travel to various facilities as needed.
