Description We are offering a unique opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the Financial Services industry, located in Dallas, Texas. This role is pivotal in managing financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation, and will be overseeing a team of two accounting staff. This employment opportunity provides a contract role with a focus on accounting functions within the banking industry.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the work of two accounting staff, ensuring efficient financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.

• Establish, implement, and maintain internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.

• Oversee the monthly financial close process and the preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.

• Ensure the production of periodic financial reports complies with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

• Review and approve accounts for compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary information for annual external audits.

• Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

• Handle other related duties as necessary or assigned.

• Utilize accounting and tax preparation software proficiently.

• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Ability to manage Accounting Functions

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Knowledge of Accounting close process

• Proficiency in Financial Reporting

• Experience in the Banking Industry
