OVERVIEW:

OVERVIEW:

  • Trend: Be aware and identify product and aesthetic trends within the market. Collaborate with design leadership in application of color palette that supports the identified trends and color stories.

  • Design and Develop: Apply and Develop the skills to Design and Develop products based on project briefs within a FOB goal. Focus on designing appropriately to the positioning of the brand, reinforcing the brand mission and values through design. In this execution conduct research, generate concepts, validate designs/function , review usage patterns, apply ergonomics, define product specifications, define applicable manufacturing process, explore aesthetics, apply brand VBL, coordinate graphics application, and support the execution of insights to ground ideas. As needed perform R&D activities to create new products based on “grounds up” design briefs and stretch innovation projects. During the above activities, collaborate with cross functional teams to review designs concepts to ensure designs are appropriately, meet the expectations defined by the project brief, are manufacturable, and meet the needs of the business. Supports the sourcing team in clarification of tech packs and updates from factory feedback to meet FOB and manufacturing needs.

  • Drive Adoption: Create and deliver effective, cohesive product presentations to maximize adoption with the merchants. This includes the uses and understanding of various tools available. (i.e. first insight, qualitative/quantitative research, trend analysis, and review of available metrics.)

  • Design Production: Generate 3D data (as needed), color studies, define CMF, and compile information required for execution in tech packs. Update tech packs based CFT post sample reviews. Upload all execution collateral needed information is accurate on PLM. Post tech pack release, changes suggested during the execution process with sourcing, will be updated and communicated with tech packs. Review and approve samples based on published tech packs. Manage and approve the lab dip and color approval process for various materials as applied to product. Track updates and manage expectations for all assigned projects. Report on progress and identify hurdles during development.

  • Drive Innovation: Based on the direction of design leadership learn how to push beyond the core product ask and Introduce innovation within various categories. Use available resources and tools to define product opportunities for R&D activities. Collaborate with design management and business development managers to justify the business case and size of the opportunity. Ground the concepts with trend, research, and solving for the unmet needs.

  • Grow and Learn: Learn to build core design skills and competencies. Create a IDP. Look for opportunities to grow as a designer and an associate within the walls of a retail culture. Opportunities should be structured with goals, IDP’s, and some self-directed opportunities identified with your manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
