Johnson & Johnson Medtech in Spain is recruiting for a Senior Business Unit Finance Manager for the DePuy Synthes business, located in Madrid.

Our DePuy Synthes business represents ca. 40% of the MedTech business in the country. Spain is a strategic market for MedTech and is one of our 5 focus markets within EMEA.

This role is responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of the financial agenda of the DePuy Synthes Franchise business in Spain, by acting as a valued business partner to the Franchise Leader and his team. This includes influencing decisions on key aspects with significant relevance for the business such as Cash Flow generation variables (Inventory, Capex, P&L), by analyzing complex sets of data to provide insights, develop Business Plans, analyze and advise on go-to-market models, on portfolio optimization initiatives and on investment decisions, among other business projects, to drive profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality business partnering to the Franchise Leader, Business Unit leads, Finance Director and EMEA counterparts.

  • Partner with the business to drive execution of financial targets, build sound financial plans and ensure adequate ongoing monitoring.

  • Analyze, interpret and communicate key financial performance metrics (Sales, Price/Volume, GP, OPEX, FCF variables). Actively collaborate with business partners to identify issues, define and implement required actions and support successful execution and follow-up.

  • Provide financial leadership to secure long term profitable growth, through analysis of new business opportunities and other key business initiatives.

  • Develop constructive partnerships with DePuy Synthes Regional team, FP&A and Global Services Finance teams. Foster one team spirit, accountability and commitment.

  • Lead monthly and quarterly closing activities for the area of responsibility, working closely with the GS Finance team and channeling communication with the business, to provide analysis, commentary of variances and required input as needed.

  • Meet all compliance requirements (i.e. SOX, Records Retention, HCC/HCBI, etc.)

  • Coordinate transversal processes within the BUF function, aligning with the team on timelines and execution in planning cycles and closings.

  • Support the Finance Director on ad hoc activities and projects as required.

People management

  • Provide people leadership and coaching to 1 direct report (analyst).

  • Contribute in shaping and building the Spanish Business Unit Finance organization

  • Attract, develop and retain top talent

  • Actively collaborate cross-sector, cross function and with the EMEA regional team

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education:

  • University/Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or Economics

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience and relevant business experience

  • Exceptional financial, accounting and analytical skills, results oriented, accuracy/attention to detail, compliance demeanor and intellectual curiosity.

  • Proved ability to manage complexity and the appropriate balance between diving into detailed business analyses while also maintaining perspective of the big picture.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player mentality, collaborative and proactive working style

  • Excellent communication, influencing and framing skills

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with SAP, TM1 and Analytics/Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau etc.).

  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

  • Demonstrated ability in leading teams

Preferred:

  • Medical device industry know-how is a plus
