Human Resources Manager

Position Overview

Provide advice and counsel as well as liaison to managers, supervisors, and employees that pertain to employee benefits, Human Resource policies, and procedures. Mediate, counsel, and be a facilitator in arbitrating disputes between employees and their supervisors and/or managers. Provide team building support to all areas.


  • Responsible for the administration and implementation of all HR function

  • Directs supervises, provides leadership and direction for direct reports including Training, HR and Site Security

  • Acts as business partner with management and will assist in employee development, leadership training, succession planning, and the selection process

  • Acts as an employee advocate while administering company policies in a fair and consistent manner.

  • Ensure proper application and implementation of the policies and procedures of Shaw Industries, Inc.

  • Approve Leave and determine if disability income is appropriate.

  • Site and Corporate Reporting to include Turnover and Absenteeism.

  • Support Community Outreach Initiatives.

  • Ensure new hires are properly oriented to site.

  • Oversight for onsite food markets.

  • DOL reporting for monthly employment statistics report.

  • Perform Investigations when on complaints and/or possible terminations.

  • Request, review, and examine employees’ files for job bids when appropriate.

  • Coach managers/supervisors in proper disciplinary procedures.

  • Review all disciplinary forms.

  • Manage Site Wide Reward and Recognition Programs and budget.

  • Lead Diversity and Inclusion Site Wide initiatives.

  • Initial Contact with Unemployment Compensation, complete and respond on claims

  • Attend unemployment hearings as needed.

  • Coordinate the hiring of salaried employees and plant hourly employees as needed.

  • Provide as needed leadership training.

  • Liaison between site and Corporate.

  • Develop job descriptions.

  • Initiate new programs rolled down from corporate.

  • Train Exempt Staff personally.

  • Oversee implementing job bidding process.

  • Assistance with other projects as required.

  • Complies with Shaw Industries Code of Conduct.

  • Complies with Attendance Policy.

  • Works normally scheduled work days.

  • Works overtime as required.

  • Will to work various hours on any shift as needed.

  • Will to be “called in” to work as needed.

  • Bachelor Degree

  • 3+ Plus Years in HR Generalist – HR Management

  • PHR or SPHR preferred
