Job Description

HMT Dunham Engineering seeks a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license for our College Station, TX office. This person will work with a team of dedicated water and wastewater professionals on planning and design of local and regional projects, focusing on municipal water storage, wastewater treatment, and water quality.

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Design and Analysis:

  • Develop detailed engineering plans for water storage tanks, pump stations, and wastewater collection systems.

  • Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis to optimize water flow, pressure, and distribution.

  • Infrastructure Improvement:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance existing water and wastewater systems.

  • Evaluate infrastructure needs and propose cost-effective solutions for system upgrades.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to water quality, safety, and environmental impact.

  • Prepare and submit necessary permits and documentation.

  • Field Inspections:

  • Conduct site visits to assess the condition of water facilities, pipelines, and treatment plants.

  • Identify maintenance or repair needs and recommend corrective actions.

  • Project Management:

  • Lead water-related projects from inception to completion.

  • Coordinate with contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Review engineering designs, specifications, and construction documents.

  • Stamp and seal engineering drawings as required by professional standards.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

  • Participate in professional development activities to maintain licensure.

  • Mentor EIT's and inspection professionals

We Are Looking For Candidates With The Following Characteristics

  • Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field

  • Professional Engineering license in Texas and surrounding states

  • 5+ years experience in water/wastewater infrastructure engineering

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD

  • The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, technical writing abilities, strong organizational skills, and strong technical aptitude.

  • Must be willing to travel periodically to various project sites
