One Health IT Director in Cody, Wyoming

POSITION SUMMARY: In collaboration with senior leadership, the IT Director is responsible for shaping the IT strategy, overseeing vendor relationships, managing internal IT staff, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and collaborating with leadership and employees across the organization to drive technology initiatives for efficiency and security to ensure the seamless operation of all One Health departments and sites and their IT needs.

  • Strategic IT Leadership: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement a comprehensive IT multi-year strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives and growth plans of One Health and all of its service lines and locations. Requires strategic thinking, technical knowledge, and the ability to consider and balance different perspectives for the benefit of the organization’s short and long-term objectives.

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the internal IT team, providing guidance, setting clear objectives, and ensuring effective team collaboration. Foster a culture of open communication, continuous improvement, and professional development. Provide effective, strategic, and technical consultation to IT staff overseeing the planning, design, development, management, and evaluation of their respective activities to maintain operations and competitiveness, and to meet objectives established by the leadership team.

  • Customer Service: Work collaboratively with leadership and staff across the organization to plan, implement, and maintain IT systems that support efficient and effective patient care, while balancing the needs for patient privacy and security.

  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with third-party technology vendors including contract negotiation and performance monitoring. Working with the Network Administrator and IT Support Tech Supervisor, ensure vendor performance meets or exceeds agreed-upon service levels, and periodically negotiate and/or re-bid contracts to optimize value.

  • Budget Oversight: Work with leadership and finance to develop and manage the IT budget, allocating resources effectively to support the various operational business lines in a cost-effective manner.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate IT-related risks that could impact the organization’s operations. Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans in collaboration with the Risk and Compliance and clinical departments.

  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust IT security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and Federal Government regulations, including but not limited to the HIPAA. Is the HIPAA Security Officer responsible for investigating any potential security breaches in collaboration with the Privacy Officer and the Risk and Compliance department. Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.

  • Responsible for making connections with CISA and other potential partners to keep up to date on cyber threats and resources that can be leveraged in the instance of an attack.

  • Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions and testing to senior leadership that enhances operational efficiency, competitiveness, and security while being mindful of our mission and the bottom line. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies and/or associations, such as the state Primary Care Associations.

  • Policy Development: Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by working with leadership colleagues to create, maintain and enforce IT standards / policies / procedures for implementing technical solutions. Also responsible for developing and maintaining HIPAA security related policies and procedures.

  • Audit Support: Support the completion of IT portions of security risk assessments, financial audits, and other audits, as required.

  • Adhere to all One Health Policies and Procedures.

  • Participate in performance optimization and risk management activities as required.

  • Cooperate and abide by all elements of One Health’s Compliance Program.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and model the mission of One Health when interacting with internal and external stakeholders promoting a positive image for the health center.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required with or without prior notification by supervisor.

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Certificates/Licenses:

    Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, OR in lieu of a degree, eight (8) years’ experience

  • Valid driver’s license

    Preferred

  • Masters Degree in Information Systems/Information Technology, Computer Science or related field

    Experience:

    Required

  • Five (5) years minimum experience leading and managing IT operations, excluding Informatics and Software Development.

  • Hands-on experience in planning, deploying, and supporting at least one of the following technical disciplines:

  • Running ongoing or starting an information security program

  • Network routing, switching, and wireless

  • Microsoft 365 cloud administration, including security configurations

  • Migrations of Microsoft Active Directory to Azure Active Directory/Entra ID + Microsoft Intune

  • On-premise to cloud migration where you were the lead technical expert

  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory and management experience; managing a technical team of five or more personnel as direct reports

  • Direct experience managing an IT budget

    Preferred

  • Three (3) years managing or supporting IT in a healthcare organization

  • Five (5) years of supervisory and management experience with a technical team of at least 5 personnel

  • Experience developing business cases for additional IT investments, which include critical factors such as risks, costs, benefits, and return on investment as key criteria for the organization to consider

  • Any of the following technical certifications relevant to the OneHealth technical environment:

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Certification

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification

  • Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist

  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • Live within the Montana & Wyoming area with the ability to travel to clinics on a monthly basis or as needed in emergencies

  • Work indoors in heat-controlled environment 95% of the time.

  • Moderate noise level consistent with an office environment.

  • Typically, 40-hour workweek.

  • Some evening and weekend hours as needed.
