    Position Summary:

    A Technical Process Specialist (TPS) I- electromechanical works to design, build and maintain complex fuel nozzle assembly and test equipment. The position will interface with operations, engineering, and maintenance to keep equipment functioning and develop alternatives to current equipment and processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Following established procedures; responsibilities may include the following:

  • Evaluates moderately complex manufacturing processes by conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, and soliciting observations from operators/production technicians.

  • Evaluates, suggests, and develops improvements to safety and ergonomic issues encountered in assembly and test processes.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge.

  • Willingness to travel in support of AA TECH overhaul facilities (up to 10%).

  • Have an intimate knowledge of calibration practices and theory for all liquid and air flow process and know how to correct any out of tolerance conditions.

  • Perform internet searches for needed supplies, information, and software to support machine investigation and repair.

  • Troubleshoot and repair all test equipment and other process that use automated controls. This includes hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/ electronic, servo controlled, instrumentation and computer-based systems.

  • Design and build test equipment including documenting the systems and components in the finished product.

  • Assist engineering with test equipment design and execution at suppliers and other AATECH sites. Actively participate in engineering investigations and troubleshooting/ brainstorming sessions.

  • Utilizing knowledge and experience have the confidence and skill to investigate and troubleshoot unfamiliar equipment and processes.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in a technical/related field. Bachelor’s degree a plus.

  • Fundamental knowledge of engineering principles and concepts of general business operations.

  • Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and policies.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members.

  • Interpersonal skills adequate for frequent interface with shop floor personnel and engineers.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to read, write and understand instructions, procedures, drawings, and schematics in English.

  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated by work and/ or hobby experiences.

  • Strong personal computing skills including system component hardware and a thorough working knowledge of MS Windows operating systems in addition to proficient use of MS Office Suite and various Windows applications.

  • Self-organization skills including record keeping for tasks and actions.

  • Ability to perform basic to advanced mathematical calculations.

  • Possess good judgement, demonstrated manual dexterity and a willingness to learn.

  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be willing to work effectively with people in all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities as needs arise.

  • Ability to work safely and demonstrate a pro- safety mentality to protect themselves and our employees.

    Desired Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of aerospace industry or similar industry products.

  • Proficient in design (PROE or equivalent) and manufacturing (CAMworks or equivalent) software.

  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from team members, team leaders, customers, and regulatory agencies.

  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

  • Ability to work on a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact.

  • Ability to work with only general work direction and instructions regarding the scope of assignments, determine priority and order of assignments.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to operate a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others and members of the public, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once. The employee may be required to travel to vendors or customers including overnight trips.
