Emerson Commodity Manager in CLUJ NAPOCA, Romania

As our Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic sourcing activities and based on your experience, you will define and implement the supply chain strategy for the Manchester plant and other PRM European locations for commodity strategy, in line with Emerson global best practices in strategic sourcing and requirements of the Manchester business. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Assess supplier capability, capacity, cost structure, and performance against targets;

  • Implement category strategies to reach annual targets for timely delivery performance, lead-time, payment terms, cost savings, and supplier consolidation;

  • Run sourcing projects by negotiating commercial terms and conditions with the suppliers: price lists, discounts, rebates, payment terms, contracts, and mitigate price increase requests within the delegation of authority.

  • Ensure reliability of supply by resolving supply issues and developing supply chain risk mitigation and contingency plans, to improve material availability;

  • Assure Supplier performance by conducting regular reviews with key suppliers for driving continuous improvements. Manage relationships with preferred suppliers;

  • Performs total cost analysis to identify improvement opportunities for low-performance suppliers;

  • Coordinates partnership efforts between suppliers and Tactical purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to drive initiatives that will ensure material availability.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related;

  • Minimum of 3 years of functional experience in one or more of the following areas: Supply, Engineering, or Operations;

  • Work experience in a manufacturing engineered-to-order environment;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and presentation);

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart

  • Matrix organization experience preferred;

  • Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and strive for results;

  • Technical understanding;

  • SAP/Oracle knowledge and experience is preferred.
