Job Summary:

In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the Supervising ACC RN is responsible for supporting the general medical administrative & programmatic oversight of all clients as it relates to medical & behavioral health services. In addition they function as part of the program leadership team and agency nursing leadership team ensuring training, policy/workflow development, and successful collaboration of roles and programs with one another. This includes scope or practice supervision to LPNS utilizing a mix of individual and group supervision to support the residential system.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid NYS RN license.

  • Valid NYS Drivers’ License.

  • Behavioral Health background preferred.

  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.

  • Previous Supervisory experience.

Job Requirements:

Duties:

  1. Demonstrates teamwork and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment with coworkers and supervisors. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and cooperative.

  2. Demonstrates professionalism by providing quality service and care with respect and dignity for the clients and as a representative of FLACRA.

  3. Coordinate and document medical program compliance in accordance with Agency & OASAS policies, procedures and regulations.

  4. Ensures that all documentation for medical services is recorded accurately; track outcomes & needs.

  5. Completes and monitors medication administration records.

  6. Assists with program applicant referrals, screens, admissions and discharges in a professional and proficient manner.

  7. Obtains and maintains knowledge of community resources to coordinate or refer clients to a full range of medical services.

  8. Participates in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings held by the Agency. Includes facilitation as needed/assigned.

  9. Participates in agency/program continuous improvement/department enhancements related to medical/nursing.

  10. Provides program leadership and full team with verbal communication updates of client/program/staff status at each shift change or more frequently as necessary.

  11. Provides programmatic oversight of the development and implementation of clients’ objectives as it relates to medication management and/or medical issues. Provides instruction and/or education to clients as it pertains to medication management and/or medical issues. Ensure documentation of clients’ progress is complete, accurate and timely.

  12. Responds appropriately to crisis and emergency situations in order to ensure/secure the safety/well-being of the clients. Adheres to regulatory guidelines and follows-up by appropriate communication and documentation to identified personnel.

  13. Assures that all clients’ required record documentation is accurate and timely and in compliance with Agency and regulatory policies, practices and procedures.

  14. Provides training to all new hire nurses on unit as well as assists with med pass certification training for other positions.

  15. Provides individual and/or group supervision for LPNs in the residential system

  16. Provides appropriate direct care to clients -assessments, med pass, ect

  17. Coordinates pharmacy services.

  18. Assists with scheduling nurses.

  19. Assists with recruitment of nurses.

  20. Perform other duties and functions as directed.
