Winchester's principal manufacturing facilities produce and distribute sporting ammunition, law enforcement ammunition, reloading components, small caliber military ammunition and components, and industrial cartridges.

Olin Corporation’s Winchester Division has a Forecast and Marketing Analysis Specialistopportunity at its East Alton, IL facility.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES(not all inclusive)

  • Perform statistical demand forecasting for the Winchester Division utilizing Access, SAP, Datamart, and the Demand Solutions forecasting software.

  • Develop, manage, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of the Winchester Forecasting Database.

  • Develop and update monthly the data-input screens and user reports required to allow for optimum input to, and utilization of, the Forecast Database by sales and marketing personnel.

  • Schedule and run the monthly Demand Forecast meetings, which includes the analysis, summarization, and presentation of key forecast data to sales and marketing personnel for their review and concurrence.

  • Interact extensively with Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Manufacturing personnel to ensure timely updates to the forecast that enhance and ensure the accuracy of the forecast.

  • Develop a comprehensive evaluation of the forecast accuracy and publish findings for analysis and identification of problematic areas.

  • Support information and analysis requests from the sales organization.

  • Through interaction with Sales Team, recognize opportunities for improved demand forecasting based on future promotions, changing sales dynamics, and seasonality.

  • Attend all Production Planning meetings to understand the impact of the forecast on manufacturing.

  • Develop databases to centralize the organization of, and optimize access to, internal digital Marketing information and assets.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS(not all inclusive)

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing discipline preferred. Candidates actively working towards a Bachelor’s Degree with an anticipated graduation date of May 2018 will be considered.

  • Minimum 1 year recent related experience required; internship or co-op experience may be considered to meet the minimum qualification.

  • Familiarity with Winchester’s sales processes a plus.

  • Forecasting experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.

  • Experience with a demand planning software package such as Demand Solutions a plus.

  • Familiarity with hunting and shooting seasonality and firearms industry a plus.

  • Database management and report development experience within Microsoft Access preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required.

  • Experience with SAP preferred.

  • Superior organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, analytical, research, and presentation skills.

  • Aptitude to learn, understand, and work with a significant amount of process detail in a logical, detail-oriented manner.

  • Ability to work in a self-directed, autonomous manner, including motivation and aptitude to utilize existing documentation to independently learn and understand the intricacies and operation of the complex web of programs and systems involved in the Forecasting process.

  • Diligence to conduct a multitude of sequential tasks each month with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
