Job Purpose:The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) supports Sea Box’s quality objectives by setting and implementing the company’s standard for welding and workmanship. Job Summary:Sea Box, Inc. seeks a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) that sets, maintains, and finds ways to improve a standard by which quality and success is measured. It will leverage one’s skill and experience to set an example for others to learn from and live up to. The Certified Welding Inspector reports to the Quality Department Manager and works in partnership with Production Department employees and Project Managers. The successful candidate will get in front of quality issues by identifying them before they become a problem and ensuring the company’s welding program is accordance with AWS/SNT-TC-1A. Responsibilities:Accident prevention - actively identify, correct and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents.Actively identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency/profit improvement opportunities.Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy calling for self-inspection of your work product.Implement and report on welding and NDT inspection processesReview and understand SOWs and Mil-Specs in order to ensure complianceTrain, certify, qualify, and monitor welders/inspectors to have 100% accountability of statusQuantitatively assess welding performance company-widePerform in-house calibration of welding equipmentMaintain calibration records and labels for welding equipment and maintain schedule/ trackingComplete and maintain quality department reporting and documentationMonitor and maintain welding certifications and related documentationProvide welding expertise for nonconformance/corrective action investigationPerforms other duties as assigned.Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.Skills/Qualifications:AWS Certified Welding InspectorKnowledge of MIL-standards and international standardsNDT Level II: visual testing, magnetic particle, and penetrant testingAbility to understand structural steel plans and technical specificationsProficiency with weld inspection methods and toolsAbility to complete and communicate daily work reportsBeginner to intermediate skills with Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionWillingness to develop skill sets as needed through training/ certification programsExperience:2-5 years of experience in quality related to weldingProven leadership experience in a quality environment a plusLocation: This position is onsite (non-remote) at the Company’s corporate headquarters in Cinnaminson, NJ. This position may occasionally require working overtime and/or working outside of the Company’s normal hours of operation.
