To support the pharmacist in their efforts to build our practice by satisfying the needs of our customers in a manner that conveys a high level of compassion, furthers the customer's trust in us, and fosters their continued support and referrals.

[Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify information is complete and accurate. Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Fill bottles, or approved packaging (i.e. bubble cards) with prescribed medications and type and affix labels. File prescriptions that have been filled, or other items requested.

[Exhibit proper telephone procedures at all times by [answer telephones promptly, responding to questions or requests,[ handling medical billing-related calls (if applicable),[ or directing calls to the appropriate person(s). [Assist customers by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.

[Clean, and help maintain equipment and work areas, and clean glassware according to prescribed methods. Establish and maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients. Resolve computer software issues directly with PioneerRx and/or QuickMAR, if applicable. Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data into computer, if applicable.

[Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages. Mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions under a pharmacists direction. Operate cash registers to accept payment from customers. Compute charges for medication and equipment sold/dispensed to other facilities (i.e. hospital, doctor office, etc.), and enter data in computer. Deliver medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients, nursing homes, or another pharmacy, as needed.

[Maintain and merchandise OTC items as well as home health-care products and services, including marking items for sale. Work with DME department by assisting customers, and, if needed, return to doctors offices when they have signed prescription paperwork. Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms and records correctly, if applicable. Maintain a clean, orderly work space, and help ensure the overall appearance of the pharmacy and/or DME store is clean and orderly.

[Function within the limits of the law and Chillicothe Family Pharmacy policies and procedures. Become thoroughly familiar with and fully comply with policies, operating procedures, rules and regulations contained in the employee manual. Complete all assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner. Expand knowledge base to handle challenges better through identifying learning needs, setting goals and seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth. Conduct oneself in a manner upholding the moral and ethical practice of pharmacy. Recognize own limitations and seek assistance when required. Notify manager when absent or tardy, per company rules and regulations. Be accountable to work as scheduled and observe store policies with regard to lunch and break-time. Be properly attired for work, including proper shoes and name tag. Accepting packages from various couriers and directing those packages to appropriate personnel. Work to maintain a safe, clean workplace and demonstrate an understanding of emergency/disaster plans.
