To learn more about American Water andadditionalcareer opportunities, visit www.amwater.com.Primary RoleReporting directly to the Business Leaders in the Technology and Innovation functions ,this position orchestrates program coordination activities and their time is mainly spent on investment prioritization, project oversight, and sourcing strategy [meaning they spend a large portion of their time interacting with stakeholders within technology; often meeting daily with multiple technology stakeholders]. They are responsible for coordinating the scoping, planning, and execution of multiple, medium to large size, medium to high priority technology projects. They provide oversight to ensure accurate and timely assessment of scope, cost, schedule, issues, risks, resource management, and status reporting throughout the project/program life cycle. They act as a consultant to project teams in the day-to-day activities of projects through the project life cycle from initiation to close including requirements gathering, system analysis , design , development , configuration, testing and implementation phases. They act as primary liaison between the business and the various technology teams.Key AccountabilitiesProject Consultant - 40%Provides planning, direction, coordination, and daily supervision to the project teams to ensure the objectives and tasks of the projects are accomplished on time and within budget.Identifies, tracks, escalates, and helps solve project issues, conflicts, and problems.Identifies and tracks project risks and mitigates risks that jeopardize the project deliverables.Consults with the business departments and process owners in defining business requirements and ensuring the solution meets those requirements.Strategic Planning - 15%Establishes a repeatable IT strategic planning processes, and links the plans to both the companys business strategy and enterprise architecture.Provides input for prioritization of business-related activities and initiatives.Provides input on future use of technology and business process improvements.Relationship Management - 25%Acts as primary liaison between Technology & Innovation the various lines of business and other stakeholders to for capital, expense, and vendor management issues.Collaborates with internal technology teams.Builds relationships and leverages influence skills to form a commonbusiness and technical solution that drives operational excellence.Process Management & Improvement - 20%Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.Knowledge / SkillsKnowledge:Excellent knowledge of digital technologies and emerging ideas in that space.Knowledge of technology system environments/platforms and development tools.Working knowledge of utility/financial business processes.Demonstrated knowledge/proficiency and comprehension of core business functions, processes, and operations.Skills:Exceptional strategic thinking, ability to consider impact and opportunities of a fast changing technology market on utility sector, paired with ability toropose practical implementation approaches.Exceptional decision-making ability, balancing what is right with what is realistic.Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.Ability to lead through influence and to deliver results through others.Poss
