Citigroup India Head of USPB Risk Change Management & CSC Senior Group Manager in Chennai, India

  • USPB Risk CAO organization provides a global focus for risk management strategy/execution oversight for compliance with Citi Policies and Regulatory requirements, and driving Strong Risk Management - for USPB Risk, Wealth Risk and Legacy Franchises/Banking & International Retail Risk Management. Head of USPB Risk Change Management & CSC Senior Group Manager will report to USPB Risk CAO and be a critical member of that leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Head of USPB Risk Change Management & CSC Senior Group Manager is responsible for embedding Retail Credit and Wealth Risk Management into BAU, across 1st and 2nd Lines of defense (LOD), through direct accountability for overall change management and operational readiness for key transformation and BAU initiatives executed by USPB Risk (inclusive of shared support provided for Wealth Risk & LF/International Retail Risk) to drive progress to strong risk management.

  • Change management scope includes changes to & uplift of governance protocols, procedures, platforms, processes, controls and data – foundational audit trail requirements necessary to meet heightened standards.

  • Key responsibilities also include overall management of 100 staff in India/manila supporting USPB Risk (including 70 staff within USPB Risk CAO function) who are critical “shared utility” for 2nd line risk managers and for 2nd line risk execution – and provide credit performance and regulatory/policy analysis, controls assessments and independent testing, managing RCR policy execution and business administration of global risk aggregation & oversight platforms, risk reporting, and global retail product development (from requirements to UAT to user training & post production monitoring).

  • This role will be India CSC site lead for USPB Risk and responsible for driving employee engagement and compliance of function & staff to local/HR regulatory requirements.

  • Role also directly accountable for driving adoption of AI/work automation to further transform risk process and risk execution digitization, in partnership with peers in USPB Risk CAO function.

  • Key accountability to ensure India/manila CSC staff are appropriately skilled and cross-trained , ensure adherence to local CSC rules, perform in-depth reviews, and their responsibilities are appropriately prioritized to deliver & evolve with intended automation, while ensuring COB and strong controls

  • The role will have 6+ direct reports and manage 100+ staff based in India and Manila CSCs supporting risk policy execution, risk reporting, BI analytics – automated self-service dashboards, policy/control/business-system requirements analysis, technology product roadmap & requirements definition, user acceptance testing, user training and postproduction/continuous monitoring, with end-to-end change controls and operational readiness management.

  • Establish strong partnerships with Risk managers, process & platform owners and project/initiative leads, and a well-managed governance process to prioritize, synergize and effectively meet commitments.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degrees in business, finance, economics, computer science or other analytically intensive discipline

  • 20+ years of experience in risk management/technology, with at least 10 years of people management experience and leadership roles - with proven track record for managing risk analytics centers of excellence / delivery centers.

  • Respected risk analytics thought leader with strong passion for talent development and innovative use of technology.

  • Recognized subject matter expert on personal banking and wealth management risk policies & key regulations including heightened standards and BCBS239.

  • Design Thinking and Agile Product Development experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of engagement with Regulators, Business and Technology senior leadership teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills, able to leverage relationships and work collaboratively across an organization.

  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views.

  • Strong governance skills with prior leadership in managing global teams/projects and leading re-engineering of risk processes and systems – with complex data, regulatory risk, client aggregation and reporting needs.
