Union Senior Strategist in Charlotte, North Carolina

We’re looking for a talented Senior Strategist to join our Strategy Team!

We continue to grow and change with the needs of our clients to include our most recent evolution, joining Valtech, a global business transformation company. Our creative & performance marketing expertise, combined with Valtech (https://www.linkedin.com/company/valtech/) ’s market reach & resources, will accelerate Valtech’s expansion of marketing services in North America. This new partnership will take our existing boutique shop to a global scale. Together, we will transform how our clients build relationships with their customers by providing end-to-end technology and marketing services that support the entire customer experience journey. The Senior Strategist will develop a deep understanding of Union’s clients, tackling key business challenges. This person will partner closely with strategy and project teams to assist in developing clear insights, growth opportunities, and effective, creative strategies for multiple accounts. The Senior Strategist is responsible for organizing and elevating research findings, developing deliverables with concise, compelling insights, and making strategic, innovative recommendations to achieve client business objectives.

The ideal candidate is passionate about researching best practices and supporting the creation of a clearly defined strategic framework to be applied across multi-channel campaigns. The Senior Strategist will also support small to mid-sized client relationships.

Requirements

  • Leverage marketing research tools and methodologies to uncover unique insights that meet objectives and exceed client expectations

  • Influence and execute research plans and deliverables for each engagement

  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative research, primary & secondary research, and compile data from multiple varying business and consumer perspectives

  • Create first pass of strategic framework to guide approach, messaging and tactics based on client deliverables, resulting in creative and tactical decisions

  • Assist in the creation of strategy and creative briefs as needed for internal and client teams

  • Nurture strategic ideas developed to ensure they deliver on brief and strategy

  • Develop fully integrated campaigns with the wider multidisciplinary team playing a key role in managing such cross-functional projects from initiation to implementation

  • Participate in annual/quarterly client planning, workshoping or brainstorming meetings internally and with client teams

  • Proactive communication with Account and Project Managers to support & execute processes and workflows to achieve overall client goals

  • Support the growth in strategic offerings, proactively identifying incremental opportunities within existing accounts

  • Execute research efforts such as Market & Competitor Audits, Stakeholder Interviews, Customer Interviews, Customer Surveys

  • Continuous learner with a desire to perform ongoing marketing, digital, brand and trend research to elevate skills and understanding

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 year’s experience in Brand Strategy / Strategy role within a digital advertising agency

  • Multi-channel / Integrated Marketing experience is a plus

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative market research

  • Strong writing, oral and presentation skills

  • Well-versed in marketing principles and strategies

  • Exceptional critical thinking skills

  • Proficiency with business software applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets), especially MS Office
