We are seeking a high-energy, dynamic Human Resource Business Partner to support the Carrier Commercial HVAC business in Charlotte, NC. You will be a strategic partner providing HR client support and interfacing extensively with senior executive leaders at our world headquarters and employees within their teams.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this highly desired role, you're responsible for leading human resource initiatives and promoting an inspiring and encouraging environment, including leadership effectiveness, staffing and sourcing, talent development, performance programs, compensation, policy compliance, employee relations, and communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will partner with senior executives and managers to provide HR leadership, direction and counseling on various HR related topics and business decisions

  • You'll help drive engagement and retention of all employees, focusing on the employee experience to maintain the management-represented status of the workforce

  • Lead recruitment efforts, implementing creative strategies to attract and retain top talent, identifying diverse talent and building a talent pipeline

  • You'll be leading key HR processes, including annual salary planning, incentive design and review, leadership development review, and headcount and employment cost planning

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that shape culture and improve processes

  • Identify employee relations issues; recommend and implement solutions

  • Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Recognized within the organization as a thought leader in area of expertise

  • Owns and develops critical strategic and operational goals which have significant impact to the achievement of results

  • Influences business decisions made by executive leadership

  • Problems faced are complex and require extensive investigation / analysis

  • Communicates with senior executive leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization; conducts meetings with senior leaders in and outside of job function

Qualification:

  • Ability to work effectively and influence others in a diverse and dynamic work environment

  • Strong project management and complex problem-solving skills

  • Ability to understand, interpret and easily communicate policies, practices and the UTC Code of Ethics

  • Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

  • Enjoy collaboration and being a part of a winning team

  • Ability to lead and work in cross-functional environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Willing to travel internationally for extended timeframes

The ideal candidate for this position is an excellent communicator who possesses a combination of business acumen, technical and interpersonal skills. Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.

Education:

  • BA/BS degree with 12+ years’ experience

  • MA/MS with 10+ years’ experience
