As aProduction Engineerat Permobil, you'll play a pivotal role in managing and developing the production processes to drive continuous improvements in efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity. Your primary responsibility will be to challenge the organization to maintain constant motion and to relentlessly reduce waste from operational processes. By leveraging your expertise, you'll contribute to streamlining workflows and enhancing overall performance, ensuring that our production operations remain at the forefront of innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop tactical and strategical plans that enhance production, reduce costs, and optimize labour requirements

  • Diagnose problems in the production line and provide recommendations and training to solve them

  • Identify and recommend improvement opportunities and work on implementing projects, ensuring adherence to time-frame, quality and cost requirements

  • Challenge existing in-house flows for material and production, propose improvement activities where these can be found

  • Address Quality, Health & Safety issues when detected and take care of the related reporting, as well as proactively promote and develop production safety culture

  • Evaluate new process technologies to improve productivity, quality and cost reduction, supporting the team in testing activities, approval criteria and eternal provider choices

  • Work with the Permobil Lean System (PLS) and develop the production unit inline with PLS principles

  • Cooperate with other functions to improve the quality of the manufactured products

  • Take part in new product industrialization, collaborating with R&D and Quality department

  • Define DFM principles (Design For Manufacturing) together with the R&D team and make sure they’re translated and consistently applied in production

  • Ensure that the equipment used in the assembly line is properly maintained and calibrated

  • On request actively participate and secure relevant information for regulatory documentation & requirements incl, CAPA’s

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Master Degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • 5+ years work experience in production and/or supply chain management. Experience in cross functional teams, in international and multicultural work environment is a plus

  • Strong knowledge in assembly production and Lean production philosophy

  • Fluency in English and in Italian

  • Ability to implement and lead projects across multiple groups

  • Excellent presentation and communications skills

  • Flow production
