Interstate Hotels & Resorts Director of Purchasing & Distribution in Captiva, Florida

Job Summary

Directs the procurement and distribution processes for all supplies, services, merchandise, contracts and Food & Beverage products for the resort. Will organize, coordinate and control all resort purchasing functions; develop, submit and implement approved policies and procedures related to purchasing and distribution. The Director will maintain close communication between resort operating departments regarding purchasing activities, storage and distribution to bring proper control over expenditures and streamlining the overall purchasing and distribution processes. The Director will also develop short-term and long-term plans to improve quality standards and cost-effectiveness through solicitation of competitive bids from various vendors. The Director will hire, train and guide the duties of the receiving and distribution staff.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years previous experience in Hotel food and beverage purchasing. Must have advanced knowledge of the accounting aspect of the position and the ability to perform the essential accounting function of the position. The candidate will have previous supervisory experience; investigative and analytical skills and mastery of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite. The qualified candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English, have a valid Florida driver’s license, and the ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods to complete tasks. S/he must be available for varied schedules.
