SEYMOUR PACIFIC DEVELOPMENTS LTD. Controller in Campbell River, British Columbia
The Controller is directly responsible for managing the overall financial operations of Seymour Pacific Developments Ltd. This role will provide financial leadership by overseeing all accounting functions, managing budgets, forecasting as well as risk management. Responsibilities include managing a team, as well as executing long-term financial plans, developing and tracking financial KPIs, and reporting. The Controller will also interface with other internal departments to gather information and ensure the effective operation of Seymour Pacific Developments Ltd.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and oversee the day-to-day accounting function
Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and company policies and procedures
Develop and execute short- and long-term financial plans and forecasts
Collaborate with operations to define, measure, analyze, improve and control current processes
Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making
Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements and external reporting to financial institutions, ensuring all reporting requirements are met
Implement and manage internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures
Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting
Sets priorities within the accounting group
Facilitate and oversee the year-end audit and preparation of financial statements
Support new systems and project selections from a strategic finance and internal control perspective
Hire, train, mentor and supervise accounting staff
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Provide input for initiatives from Executive
REQUIREMENTS
Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management
Experience overseeing or performing financial statement audits
Management and supervisory experience
Ability to adapt to, implement and learn new software
