Description

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

  • General Ledger Management: Oversee and manage general ledger accounting activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.

  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide explanations for significant fluctuations.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Internal Controls: Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

  • Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations by studying existing and new legislation.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business operations.

    Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Leadership: Ability to mentor and guide junior accounting staff.

  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
