JOB TITLE: Director Clinical Nutrition - Diabetes

LOCATION: Holy Spirit Hospital



WORK TYPE: Full Time (40 hours)


Provide direction and administrative management for Clinical Nutrition Services and Diabetes Services for the region hospitals, nursing homes, and surrounding Geisinger Health System (GHS) clinic sites (CPSL): responsible for planning, monitoring, and maintaining the budgets for these sites. Instills and maintains a customer service approach throughout all aspects of the responsibility area. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range in assigned clinical areas. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient and client satisfaction. Works independently. Reports to the Geisinger Health System Senior Director, Clinical Nutrition Services.


Demonstrates current knowledge of clinical nutrition and an awareness of trends and developments in education techniques and clinical nutrition management.

Demonstrates decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrates leadership, facilitation, coaching and relationship building skills.

Demonstrates a detail-oriented work style with strong communication, planning, organizing and time management skills, and analytical and business acumen skills (i.e. Business Plan Development, Budget

Development and Analysis, Market Analysis, etc.).

Demonstrates high degree of creativity, futuristic vision, negotiation skills and team orientation.

Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


Master's Degree in Nutrition or related field required. Minimum of 5 years effective work experience in a clinical setting with at least 3 years prior supervisory/management experience required.

OR A Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field in combination with a minimum of 10 years work experience in a clinical setting required, with at least 3 years prior supervisory/management experience required

Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Dietitian Nutritionist license or Registered nurse and license required.

Maintains current license to practice in the state currently working in.


Work is typically performed in an office environment.
