Job Description

The Bridge Group in the Calgary office of AECOM is seeking a Bridge Technician with an interest in pursuing a career in CADD for the design of bridges and structures. Individual will be working on an interesting range of projects, from concepts to completion, with an established bridge engineering team. Your resourcefulness and ability to work collaboratively will be an asset to our bridge team.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Interpretation of design information provided by the project team

• Production of concept; detailed and record engineering drawings for bridge projects

• Working with AutoCAD, Microstation and other technical software

• Delivery of project documents in a timely and effective manner

• Material take offs and drafting related calculations

• Potential preparation of 3D visualization presentation graphics

• On-site inspection assistance and documentation of conditions

Qualifications

* Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Technical Diploma

• Experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Must possess a valid driver's license

* Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally experience on at least one project using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Experience in the design of structures

• Experience with spreadsheets and related computer software

• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail

• Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills

• Ability to be a committed team player

• Experience with the latest version of Microstation

• Experience in 3D and BIM design platforms

• Familiarity with Alberta Transportation CAD standards

• Experience coordinating design and production from multiple sources

Additional Information

• Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00.
