Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President for Mission Integration and Ministry, the Executive Director (ExD) of Campus Ministry strategically leads all aspects of the Fordham University Office of Campus Ministry across its campuses.

In service of Fordham’s Jesuit, Catholic mission and identity, the Executive Director fosters the religious, spiritual, and liturgical life of the entire campus community. The Executive Director oversees and collaborates with a team of professionals to ensure the effective pastoral outreach to the university community. They direct a team dedicated to both the Catholic tradition and a broad spectrum of faith expressions, focusing on student wellness, flourishing initiatives, and the dynamic sacramental and liturgical life of the university.

This position requires regular evening and weekend hours and occasional travel.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops a comprehensive vision for the Office of Campus Ministry, integrating Catholic sacramental and liturgical life with diverse interfaith and multi-faith programming.

  • Guides the organization in offering a range of campus ministry programs, including Catholic Masses and religious services in other faith traditions, interfaith dialogues, religious education classes, spiritual retreats, and community engaged learning projects.

  • Ensures the delivery of student support services like pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance.

  • Builds relationships with various university departments and external religious organizations to enhance campus ministry offerings, including guest speakers, interfaith symposiums, and collaborative worship events.

  • Actively promotes Campus Ministry, emphasizing its role in nurturing Fordham’s Catholic and multi-faith dimensions through events like orientation sessions, open houses, and university-wide celebrations.

  • Leads mission-driven initiatives that embody the University’s Catholic identity and commitment to interfaith harmony and multiculturalism, such as campus-wide faith exploration series and dialogue forums.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology or related field.

  • Minimum five years relevant ministerial experience.

  • Minimum five years experience in program administration, leading and supervising groups and individuals in managerial contexts, budget oversight.

  • Significant experience in adult staff supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ordained member of a religious order

Minimum Salary: $110,000

Maximum Salary: $120,000
