Shift: 1st shift

Hourly rate: $26-30/hr

Job Summary:

• Maintains, updates, and communicates all Saint-Gobain/OSHA safety standards and intercompany safety policies.

• Continuously evaluates workplace safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to established standards.

• Achieve and maintain various safety certifications from Saint-Gobain and other vendors. Application of this knowledge gained is critical to position and duties.

• Assures good housekeeping practices in place for a safe work environment by routine inspection and remedy actions.

• Manages and conducts safety compliance training for the site. (SMAT program and OSHA basic safety)

• Works closely with department leaders to implement new safety standards and ensure continued compliance.

• Assists Production Supervisor and Engineering by inspecting and recommending repairs/changes/installation/removal of safety devices used in the plant.

• Responsible for all site safety record keeping practices.

• Conducts monthly inspections of industrial safety systems to ensure safe working order in conjunction with Maintenance team.

• Purchasing, inventory management and stocking program management of any safety items and vended safety programs.

• Conducts routine JHA/JSA’s on a scheduled basis to ensure the continued safe working environment is maintained and improved.

• Conducts all incident investigations regarding plant personnel and property.

• Handles all workers compensation claims for all qualifying site sustained injuries.

• Leads and often hosts weekly safety chat meetings with plant personnel.

• Assist engineering in capital projects, process implementation, commissioning, and regulatory affairs by providing adequate risk assessment specific for each project

• Drive SMAT program in the plant, to include planning, scheduling, verifying and closure of action items.

• Provide training and onboarding for new employees according with OSHA regulation and Saint Gobain standards

• Create EH&S objectives for the plant and validate them with plant leadership.

• Creates plans to achieve EH&S objectives for the plant.

• Train contractors on safety regulation and risk assessment and assist engineering team when contractors are on plant property

Required Qualifications

Required Skills:

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Effective presentation skills

•Proficient computer skill

•Ability to write procedures with input from subject matter experts

•Excellent interpersonal and problem solving capabilities to work effectively in manufacturing and team environments
