Boston University RESEARCH TECHNICIAN 1, School of Medicine, Pharmacology in BOSTON, Massachusetts
The Mews lab is seeking a research technician who will be a proactive, organized, and helpful presence in a newly established group. Experience in cellular/molecular experimental techniques is ideal but not required.
Responsibilities include:
Working under the guidance of an experienced scientist in characterizing mouse models of drug addiction.
According to established protocols and assigned schedules, performs a variety of routine laboratory experiments and procedures, utilizing standard laboratory equipment, recording and checking results for completeness and accuracy.
Learns animal surgery techniques and behavioral assays from collaborating researchers.
Routine transgenic mouse colony maintenance, genotyping, and characterization.
Maintains records of results and methodologies in a log of work performed.
Inventories supplies, alerts supervisor to needed supplies, or mixes standard reagents.
Required Skills
Bachelor's required with 1-3 years of related experience.
