- Under general supervision, prepares, sets-up and delivers patient trays, carts nourishments and floor stock, ensuring accuracy, attractiveness, timeliness and temperature of each food tray provided for patients. Performs a variety of sanitary tasks and trash removal essential to good sanitation of the kitchen and work environment.¨ Ability to operate simple mechanical devices such as coffee urn, dishmachine, slicer, trash compactor. Ability to use a knife for slicing, cutting, dicing. Physical skills required: standing and walking for 95% of the day, straining and lifting approximately 30lbs., pushing loaded carts (approximately 400lbs.).Ability to communicate with patients and employees from other departments. Ability to read, speak basic English, and follow instructions. On the job training.
