What Information Security and Risk contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Information Security and Risk develops, implements, and enforces security controls to protect the organization's technology assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction. This job family develops system back-up and disaster recovery plans. Information Technology also conducts incident response, threat management, vulnerability scanning, virus management and intrusion detection and completes risk assessments.

Architect and implement Availability, Disaster Recovery and Backup/Recovery services and solutions.

Architect resiliency solutions for cloud, hybrid-cloud and on-premise technologies (automation, recovery scripts, backup solutions, high-availability, failover). Lead effort to develop availability, failover and recovery scripts or automated resiliency capabilities to ensure critical technologies are continuously available, secure, and hardened. Responsibilities include:

  • Recommend resiliency solutions while conducting assessments, gather data, and update resiliency requirements within tools such as ServiceNow, SQL DB, documentation repositories.

  • Research, analyze and document architecture of technology components as well as interdependencies, networking, and firewall requirements.

  • Lead the implementation of resiliency solutions using automation, resiliency technologies, distributed computing, cloud operations, hybrid cloud environments, and cloud migration project.

  • Manage, review, and approve resiliency plans.

  • Work with project teams to identify and document resiliency risks and remediation plans.

  • Perform Availability and Disaster Recovery testing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of or certification in AWS, GCP or Azure preferred.

  • Recent experience with Python programming preferred, but not required.

  • Strong knowledge of data management across disparate locations (replication techniques of filesystems and multiple databases, eventual consistency constraints, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of network failover strategies and relationships to application Web/API designs (DNS, load balancers, etc.)

  • Platform engineering, architecture, and distributed systems experience (Unix, Windows, SAN, NAS, Networking, etc.) in enterprise environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of one or more private cloud-based technologies (e. g. vCloud, OpenStack, Cloud Foundry)

  • Disaster Recovery, High-Availability, testing, resiliency patterns, and program knowledge preferred but not required.

  • Experience with agile methodologies and software development practices.

  • Experience implementing data-driven automation (Puppet, Ansible or equivalent).

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Soft Skills Required:

  • Excellent client interfacing skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with various levels of management.

  • Worked in a large complex international organization.

  • Comfortable working and influencing across many infrastructures’ domains.

  • Self-starter, motivated - wants to get in, roll sleeves up and make a difference!
