Public Relations/ Marketing Area Lead

POWER Engineers Inc. is seeking an innovative PR/Marketing Lead for one of our Marketing and Proposal Development departments. This is a professional-level position focused on providing oversight for PR and marketing projects as well as supervising a team of graphic designers, copywriters, and content generators who serve our large Power Delivery Division as well as several other divisions. Responsibilities include assigning resources, managing workload, and leading team meetings.

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

  • Working closely with division management and the corporate marketing department, provide oversight and direction for many marketing initiatives and PR projects

  • Support execution of the Power Delivery Division’s marketing strategy. Work with division management and business development team to draft Power Delivery’s annual PR/marketing plan and budget and collaborate with team members to implement the plan

  • Collaborate with team members to conceive new projects, apply best practices and develop process improvements

  • Actively participate in corporate and divisions’ marketing initiatives, e.g., content marketing and marketing technology assessment

  • Coordinate and oversee creation and distribution of new and updated marketing materials, including trade press articles, website content, white papers, press releases, and digital media content

  • Serve on POWER’s cross-divisional marketing and brand committees

  • Collaborate with corporate marketing stakeholders on branding, marketing and visibility

  • Working with the department manager, handle personnel and administrative issues including hiring, performance reviews, timecard approvals, and training

  • Mentor, or oversee mentoring, of staff, including development of possible career paths and plans

  • Provide guidance to coordinators assigned to support targeted marketing initiatives

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in communications, PR, marketing, publishing, journalism or related fields

  • Exceptional writing, organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to interface with and provide guidance to individuals responsible for graphic design, PR, social media, email marketing, digital marketing, advertising, marketing collateral, and event coordination

  • Knowledge of corporate brand strategy

  • Ability to innovate and incorporate industry best practices for content marketing and other initiatives

  • A high degree of self-motivation, initiative and follow-through

  • Ability to balance listening/guiding skills and help key stakeholders negotiate and compromise on projects and assignments

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal management and staff

  • Ability to navigate multiple assignments and prioritize tasks based on shifting needs

  • Must be able to work regular business hours with occasional overtime

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Previous experience in A/E/C industry is a plus
