ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a dynamic and detail-oriented professional seeking a challenging role? Join us as a Traveling Construction Scheduler, where you'll be at the forefront of project scheduling excellence. As a crucial member of our team, you will collaborate with General Contractors to help shape construction projects across the United States. Your responsibilities will encompass the development of project schedules, analysis of feasibility, and proactive identification of milestone changes. You will meticulously monitor and communicate critical dates for equipment based on schedule flow, maintaining detailed records of project impacts and delays. Your active participation in Lean Construction processes will optimize project deliverables. Additionally, you'll facilitate coordination meetings, pull plan sessions, and documentation submission to General Contractors, ensuring alignment with the overall schedule. The Traveling Construction Scheduler will be assigned to travel and work at jobsite locations anywhere in the U.S.

  • Help Develop, Receive, Analyze and Communicate GC’s schedules.

  • Work with the General Contractor’s scheduling representative to develop the overall electrical construction schedule’s WBS, Activities, Logic and Sequence.

  • Receive and Communicate an initial project GMP and periodic updated schedules for all awarded work.

  • Analyze for feasibility and provide feedback internally and externally.

  • Identify, prioritize and communicate any milestone changes in the General Contractor schedule.

  • Monitor and communicate ROJ dates for all OFCI & CFCI equipment based on schedule flow and alignment.

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate an internal schedule model (baseline and updates) for scope of work utilizing P-6 and other scheduling tools.

  • Develop Milestones, Activities and Relationships based on logical sequencing and resourcing (crew ties). Ensure internal schedule is aligned and sequenced with the General Contractors schedule.

  • Develop and communicate ROJ dates for all CFCI & CFCI equipment based on schedule flow and alignment.

  • Maintain schedule by collecting and analyzing data based on actual durations provided by Project Management and Superintendent.

  • Capture all project impacts and delays in the internal schedule.

  • Maintain detailed files involving work status actuals, constraints, and project impacts.

  • Provide schedule fragments on an as needed basis for General Contractor, Project Management and Superintendents. Communicate schedule updates with team members through weekly scheduler coordination meetings.

  • Embrace Lean Construction process to ensure deliverables are met in the most efficient way possible.

  • Plan for and Conduct internal pull plan sessions with Project Managers and Superintendents prior to General Contractor’s combined Pull Plan sessions.

  • Ensure Hunt Electric has the appropriate people present and is prepared for and demonstrates active participation in the General Contractor’s Pull Plan sessions.

  • Identify, monitor and Communicate constraints to the internal project team.

  • Participate and prepare to discuss work progress in required General Contractor’s meetings including make work ready, coordination and as needed planning sessions.

  • Coordinate with Hunt Electric and it’s sub-tier contractors to plan and submit all required short range planning documentation to the General Contractor (Weekly Work Plans). Ensure this documentation aligns with the overall schedule.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (Preferred).

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the electrical industry.

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to understand the scope of the contract documents and the scope of the electrical work to be performed.

  • Willingness and ability to travel.

  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.

  • Knowledge & proficiency in scheduling software and implementation. (Proficiency in P6)

  • Ability to recognize, during job site visits, where there are schedule sequencing areas of concern and where sequencing improvements can occur.

  • Knowledge of mission critical construction projects and delivery methods.

  • Knowledge of work activity sequencing, activity durations and scheduling concepts and practices, with the ability to communicate opportunities for improvement.

  • Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy.

  • Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate as a team, both internally and externally.

  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position operates at an industrial job site and is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and noise, possibly requiring closed toed shoes, as well as occasional use of a hard hat and eye protection.

  • This job also operates in a professional construction office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.

  • Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.

  • This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.

  • This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
