Position: Wheelabrator Operator Department: Fabrication Job Description: As a Wheelabrator Operator at Spudnik Equipment Company, you will play a crucial role in our fabrication department by preparing raw steel parts for welding and painting. This position involves operating our Wheelabrator machine, which is designed to remove surface rust and mill scale from steel components, both large and small. Key Responsibilities: • Place raw steel parts on a rack, which will run through the Wheelabrator enclosure. • Operate the Wheelabrator machine to blast parts from various angles to effectively remove surface imperfections. • Ensure that blast media and dust are collected and filtered within the enclosure to maintain a clean and safe work environment. • Remove prepared parts from the machine and place them on pallets for further processing down the production line. • Collaborate with forklift operators and utilize overhead cranes when handling heavier parts. • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and ensure a secure working environment. • Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor. Qualifications: • No prior experience is required; we will provide comprehensive training. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures. • Physical stamina to lift and move heavy components with assistance.
