Sodexo is looking for a Retail Manager 3 at The University of New England located in Biddeford Maine and Portland Maine to oversee all Operations. Seeking a visionary, innovative leader who has previous management experience, who can manage a large, complex multi-unit account, has strong P&L/financial acumen, sustainable dining and culinary understanding. A strong emphasis will be placed on client and customer engagement, strengthening the operations and growing business.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Large scale College/University experience;

  • Emphasis on food presentation, quality, execution,

  • Focus on customer service excellence;

  • Retail and Marketing Resources

  • Demonstrated experience providing strong leadership, including supervision, direction and training, to a diverse team of employees;

  • Focus on food and physical safety and sanitation;

  • Experience managing food and labor cost controls to meet targets;

  • Understanding of food allergens and special dietary needs;

  • Strong understanding of financials as well as strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities for this role will include training and developing of the staff, marketing of all outlets , food forward presentation skills, managing food & labor costing, scheduling and training of all front of the house staff and retail staff , safety/sanitation & employee training. This position will also have direct customer and client interaction.

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly and supervisory food service workers, as well as other managers.

Key Duties

  • Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.

  • Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.

  • Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.

  • Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.

  • Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.

  • Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers, supervisors & managers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations
