DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Director of Technical Accounting, the Senior Technical Accountant will participate in cross-functional projects of the Corporate Financial Reporting department. Core responsibilities revolve around ensuring compliance with GAAP, including revenue recognition and lease accounting, as well as providing support related to due diligence and business combinations. In the role you will also provide accounting support related to intercompany and holding company activity.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: * Work to ensure technical compliance with GAAP, including revenue recognition and lease accounting. * Manage lease accounting compliance software, providing technical assistance, access controls and reporting for users throughout the Ametek. * Support acquisition due diligence and accounting for business combinations, including documenting and maintaining control processes. * Provide support for month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting closes, including assisting in the Company's intercompany reconciliation process as well as preparation of various Corporate Holding Companies. * Assist in the preparation of quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K SEC filings. * Assist with special accounting assignments as needed. * Assist with creating, managing, and maintaining the Company's accounting policies, * Assist or perform other related duties as required and/or assigned within the Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting group.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field * A minimum of 3 years of related work experience; CPA preferred * Ability to communicate with all levels of management, including senior executives * Knowledge of basic accounting principles * Techical system knowledge such as ERP systems; Microsoft Word/Excel; Oracle, SAP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) systems a plus
