Walmart Software Engineer III in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Walmart is building a talent hub to revolutionize Health and Wellness. The Health and Wellness team is building platforms that provide pharmacists with tools and data that will help them radically transform our customers' experience and position us as a leader in the industry. You will be a key member of the platform team and will be sharing responsibility with other engineers for a wide range of backend features, initiatives, and enhancements that enable a patient centric approach to pharmacy. You love to collaborate with your fellow engineers, your product managers, and the application's' users. What you'll do:

We need super smart engineers to help build the best products to disrupt the Health and Wellness space. We are a small team of passionate engineers looking to bring on more talented backend engineers to revolutionize this space. What you'll bring:

You have and can implement big ideas with a positive attitude. You want to be a part of the team to disrupt this industry and you have these main skills:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software

• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

• Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end

• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack

• Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Cassandra is a plus

• Experience with Azure Cloud Stack (including Cosmos NoSQL) or other cloud stacks is a plus

• Knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns and micro-service architecture. Familiarity with CI/CD and unit testing is a plus.

• A constant desire to improve, learn more and a passion for adopting the latest features on Java/Kotlin stack

• Mentor and coach junior engineers on best practices and software development methodologies and collaborate to solve problems in a team environment

• Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Experience with distributed cloud computing including containerized workloads and Kubernetes is a plus

• Experience with Kotlin/Scala language is a plus

• Experience with REST & GraphQL is a plus

• Familiarity with Performance Test Design is a plus

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
