Dell Software Quality Engineer 2 – ESSE Linux and Mac India R&D in Bengaluru, India

This specific position will be on the Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise team where the team is responsible for Advanced Threat Prevention. The team designs client software for macOS and Linux and we're looking for talented Software Quality Engineers in Automation to join our team!

Experience : 3 to 6 years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, execute and maintain test automation implementation on Linux and macOS.

  • Work with development team closely on automating applications and application APIs.

  • Execute test cases, review automated test results, report defects and other issues that affect the software products’ performance and overall quality

  • Develop test data, test data generators, analyze test results, and prepare reports of test results.

  • Develop new testing techniques/methods; provide process improvement recommendations.

  • Work as a team member to make sure that each project is finished as scheduled.

  • Work with development engineers to define requirements, explain defects, and improve the product.

  • Ability to think and work logically to create test plans for software programs and consistently carry out test plans to completion

  • Ensure that performance and quality of products conform to established company standards; guidelines; specifications and customer requirements by implementing, overseeing, and maintaining formal/structured test programs, policies, processes, procedures, and controls.

  • Work daily in Agile projects using Agile Software Development methodology.

Essential Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in writing automated tests for Linux and Mac.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of testing on Unix and Linux operating systems.

  • Experience using Ansible automation tools.

  • Strong knowledge of test automation, with evidence of at least two projects where relevant tools have been deployed

  • Experience in design verification, reviewing specifications, and test planning based on functional documentation

  • Experience with Robot Framework, Selenium, Attest, STAF, or other custom python test automation frameworks highly beneficial

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with data encryption and client/server security

  • 2+ years of Python development experience

  • Experience working in AGILE (Scrum)

  • Experience with continuous integration development and release cycles

  • Atlassian JIRA and Confluence experience

  • QMetry Test Management Experience
