Job Summary:

Sandblasters operate specialized tools and machinery that fire high-powered jets of sand or other abrasives at metal and other similarly hard surfaces to remove paint, grime, old adhesives, rust and other imperfections from the surface so that it can be painted and refinished. Industrial painters are trained to perform specialized techniques specific to industrial settings such as marine (ships, pipes, steel buildings, etc).

Industrial Painters are skilled trade workers focused on specialized techniques specific to industrial settings such as marine (ships, pipes, steel buildings, etc). They have a strong eye for detail, know how to determine what paint and equipment is needed for the surface being painted, and any special considerations required through assessment of the job.

Entry Level: If you have a background in construction, shipyard, or any type of industrial settings where you performed labor (unskilled & skilled), painting, building, steel work (bridges, steel frames, etc) using power and hand tools (such as grinders, needle guns, air compressors, welding machines, sanding machines, machine operation, etc), and even non-industrial related painting (air and airless paint sprayers, pressure washers, etc) then you would be a good fit for this industry. We are looking for the right candidate to train in this field who is motivated to learn, has a strong work ethic (flexible, reliable, and punctual), and is self-driven to learn the trade.

Experienced: The more experienced you are the higher pay you will receive. This includes certifications and training;

C7 Abrasive Blaster Certification: blast cleaning of steel and nonferrous surfaces

C12 Spray Application Certification: 800 hours applying protective coatings with airless/conventional spray in an industrial or marine environment
