Archival ManagementPhysical collections processing:Perform word processing to produce finding aids.Select and digitize original documents from collections for online access.Create metadata using library and archival descriptive standards and controlled vocabularies.Train and supervise project staff - including student workers and volunteersImplement Dublin Core metadata standards for cataloging and indexing archival materialsResearch to support the identification, acquisition, and description of archival materialsWrite descriptive summaries and finding aids for archival collectionsKnowledge of preservation and long-term access, such as basic book repair, paper treatments, encapsulation, and custom housing creationPlan and execute projectsWork with clients and repositories directly via in-person, email, and phone.Coordinate with iSchool faculty and provide supervision for iSchool student-based projects within the Stark CenterDigital Collection ManagementManage Stark Centers Texas Archival Resources Online (TARO), ArchiveGrid (OCLC), and Omeka accountsCollaborate with other team members to identify and prioritize digitization projectsDocument project analytics to increase the probability of meeting quality goals and business objectivesAssist with digital collections accessibility and complianceDevelop workflows, policies, procedures and documentation for digitization, processing of digital assets, taxonomy management, metadata standards, and preservation of digital assetsIncidental DutiesStark Center event preparations/breakdownsOther duties as assigned.Note: This job description will provide a general overview of the position.
