Position Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic developer to join our team building for the axe DevTools Mobile platform, working on our iOS products. You’ll be working closely with our diverse, fully remote, US based team to implement innovative solutions used by our customer’s development teams. The ideal person will be able to independently propose and implement changes across the iOS framework and have a sense of ownership of where the product is going.
As the iOS Technical Lead, you will be able to focus on the technology side of product development, while leading your team and product to succeed. Upon joining the team, you’ll become an accessibility expert in your field and continue building with and supporting the latest technologies available. Your code will help teams build accessible products and make technology more inclusive for all.
Primary Responsibilities
As a part of the iOS team, you will:
Contribute to development of features and fixes within Deque’s axe DevTools for iOS products, with proper test coverage in place
Be responsible for long-term codebase health and make recommendations to improve architecture and lessen tech debt
Ensure team members are unblocked and able to complete their sprint tasks
Sprint planning & refinement: Be responsible for all items on your team's current and upcoming sprint board, ensuring technical details are accurate
Work with accessibility experts in development of rules with WCAG conformance
Work with support team and customers to resolve tickets for customer success
Own DevOps scripts for CI/CD and automated testing and deployments
Write and review technical proposals
Review pull requests and offer productive feedback
Stay up to date on emerging technologies and recommend their adoption where it could improve the product
Contribute to the public documentation for iOS product(s) to ensure accuracy with each release
Requirements
Be a self-starter and have a drive to learn
Swift, UIKit and SwiftUI experience
Collaborate with team members for cross-platform consistency throughout the product
Ability to mentor team members in best practices as relates to iOS Development and/or mobile accessibility
Deep understanding of testing practices, specifically around XCUITests
Knowledgeable of the iOS ecosystem and practices such as: security, dependency injection, integration with RESTful APIs, MVVM architecture, unit testing, etc
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to lead technical discussions with technical, and non-technical team members
Experience working on an Agile development team
Has worked on a product team (remotely)
