Position Summary

General Responsibilities:

  • Engage in teaching, research, and service in the field of public health, specifically Epidemiology. Participate in the teaching core and elective public health courses and workshops in the residential and “Online” MPH programs as the institution prepares for a school of public health.

  • Engage in educational scholarship including curriculum development, teaching, scholarship, and competency mapping.

  • Develop, document, and disseminate new advances and innovations in public health education, measurement, and evaluation.

  • Assume administrative duties such as serving on institutional committees and assisting with the implementation of programs within Graduate Education in Public Health.

  • Interact with external public health partners who provide applied practice experience exposure for public health students.

  • Specific Duties:

  • Serve as Course Director for graduate education in public health courses

  • Serve on program, department, and institutional committees

  • Mentor students pursuing public health education

  • Coordinate practicum placements for public health students

  • Assist with student recruitment, including interviewing candidates

  • Assist with student masters research

  • Develop scholarly publications that detail student/faculty public health research

    Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD, DrPH or other public health related terminal degree in Epidemiology from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Mastery of R, SAS , SPSS , and other statistical software

    Preferred Qualifications

Public health and/or research experience.

Immunization Requirements

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
