Robert Half Bookkeeper in Arlington Heights, Illinois

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting and sales-oriented invoicing, maintaining complete financial records, and checking the accuracy of business transactions. This role requires active learning and listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting and sales-oriented invoicing.

• Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete.

• Perform a combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data.

• Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings related to business transactions.

• Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

• Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made.

• Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

• Apply mathematics to solve problems.

• Handle account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.

• Conduct data entry, use Microsoft Excel, and manage month-end close.

• Process payroll and use QuickBooks for full charge bookkeeping. Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Bookkeeper role or similar

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Full Charge Bookkeeping

• Proven experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations

• Proficient in Data Entry tasks

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge and experience with Payroll procedures

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
