Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Senior-Principal Scientist, Formulation Sciences to join our LCMS department of MSAT Small Molecule Drug Product located in Beerse.

The LCMS department of MSAT Small Molecule Drug Product is tasked with capturing and intensifying the scientific cornerstones and leading the compliance & sustainability action plan throughout the drug product's commercial lifecycle.

As Sr Scientist, you will work with cross-functional teams of experts, to navigate the intricate journey from Product Approval to Technical and Commercial Excellence. Your scientific expertise, strategic insights and project management skills will enable MSAT to continuously enhance the value of J&J-Innovative Medicines Product Pipeline.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with Small Molecule Product Development teams to capture and sustain the scientific foundation of new products.

  • Project leadership

  • Building business cases for assessing & implementing scientific opportunities and compliance stipulations to projects and portfolio.

  • Management of scientific projects with cross-portfolio impact.

  • Guiding cross-functional project teams

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercialization strategies, aligning business objectives with regulatory requirements and technical opportunities & capabilities.

  • Scientific ownership: Responsible for problem diagnosis, translating into investigation proposals and written protocols, coordination of analytics and hypothesis testing, and responsible for interpretation and report writing.

  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging regulations in the arena of formulations, formulation components, pharmaceutical technology and manufacturing processes, and quality to influence and inform strategic decision-making throughout the product life cycle.

  • Drive effective communication and collaboration across departments, ensuring seamless integration of scientific and commercial efforts.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with project management in pharmaceutical development or supply chain.

  • Good understanding of the drug product development process.

  • Experienced with pharmaceutical unit operations, analytics, stability, and biopharmaceutical product aspects.

  • Strong networking skills to establish and leverage academic & industry expert groups.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically.

  • Passionate about science, creative and pragmatic.

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • You have good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.

Preferred:

  • Experience with experimental design, data modeling and visualization, statistics, data science.

  • Good knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance requirements.

  • Process excellence experience.
