The LEAP Reentry Navigator provides Lehigh and Northampton County LEAP program participants pre-release transitional job readiness/job search support, helps them make career choices and strategize ways to resolve barriers to employment, and supports the transition to the PA CareerLink® Lehigh Valley employment services upon their release from jail.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
· Counsel, motivate and encourage job seekers in advancing employment, training and retention goals, and provides support in resolving issues that may impede successful job placement
· Work directly with LEAP participants, Lehigh and Northampton County Corrections, and PA CareerLink® Lehigh Valley to help participants transition seamlessly between the LEAP Centers and post release program services
· Establish professional community relationships and grow a network of community and local employer support for returning citizens
· Maintain current knowledge about labor market information and build key partnerships with workforce and economic development to identify and strategize employment opportunities for returning citizens
· Document participant progress and context through consistent case notes
· Provide accurate and timely submission of required program data to ensure real time reporting needs
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
· Bachelors' degree or comparable experience in business, sales, criminal justice or a related field
· Two years of professional experience in recruiting, sales, account management or a related business relationship management capacity
· Proven experience in project management with demonstrated success in meeting goals
· Successful candidate will be required to obtain all necessary security clearances
