Abbott Sr. Process Manufacturing Engineer in Alajuela, Costa Rica
Primary job function:
- Drives efforts related to materials/components improvements. Could be associated to Quality or Cost reduction.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Come with new ideas on how to improve quality or reduce cost in materials.
Evaluate technical & financial feasibility of ideas
Analyzes and solves problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts through to a wide range of complex and advanced problems which require novel and new innovative approaches or a breakthrough in technology.
Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management
Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
Controls project costs by approving expenditure
Evaluate technical specifications and economic factors relating to the design objectives of processes or products
Define the validation strategy for those viable ideas
Propose timeline for changes to be validated and implemented
Work with Incoming and Supply folks to have common efforts and avoid conflicts or double counting
Evaluate potential alternate vendors
Evaluate potential opportunities with current vendors (volume driven)
Mechanical or Materials Engineering degree
Experience in process validation
Manufacturing Methods and Procedures
Demonstrated 5 year experience process validations or transfers
Demonstrated knowledge in statistical tools and problem solving
