Position: Community Manager

As part of the USAID/Ethiopia Learning Analytics Activity, Kaizen is seeking a Community Manager who will be managing the Learning and Innovation Hub space designed to foster collaboration and learning with USAID Ethiopia and its implementing partners.

The Community Manager will be pivotal in fostering a vibrant and engaged learning community, driving positive interactions, and creating value for the Learning and Innovation Hub community members and stakeholders. The Community Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing various events of the Learning and Innovation Hub, ensuring they run smoothly and meet or exceed client expectations. She/He will oversee all aspects of event management, including logistics and client communication. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for The Learning and Innovation Hub throughout the event planning process, maintaining regular communication and providing updates on progress.

  • Develop event concepts, themes, and objectives in collaboration with USAID Ethiopia, Learning Project technical teams, and other stakeholders.

  • Create detailed event plans, timelines, and schedules, ensuring all aspects of the event are well-coordinated and executed.

  • Oversee all on-site event operations at the learning and innovation hub, including setup, registration, attendee management, and troubleshooting.

  • Understand clients' needs, preferences, and objectives, and tailor event plans accordingly to exceed their expectations.

  • Work as the main point of contact for event participants, addressing inquiries, requests, and emergencies as needed.

  • Coordinate logistics, including space booking, catering, audiovisual equipment, and other needs

  • Develop and manage schedules, ensuring bookings are made in a coordinated manner to manage multiple requests

  • Manage client feedback and address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.

  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess event success, gather client and attendees' feedback, and identify improvement areas.

  • Analyze event performance against objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs), producing comprehensive reports.

  • Use feedback and data analysis to inform future event planning strategies and enhance the overall learning and innovation hub experience.

    Qualifications

    Required

  • Master's degree in project management, business administration, or another relevant discipline.

  • At least five years of experience with strategic management, event management, organizational development, agile innovation, continuous improvement, or other relevant fields.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with diverse stakeholders with excellent client relationship management skills

  • Strong ability to forge collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and resourceful approach to challenges.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a keen eye for quality and a commitment to excellence.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, with a willingness to learn and grow professionally.

  • Excellent written and oral communication in English and Amharic.

    Preferred

  • Working experience with USAID-funded projects and/or other international development organizations

  • Experience using event management software.

    Based on the experience level of the selected candidates, Kaizen may hire one or more individual, and may hire at various levels based on the candidate's skillset (i.e., Director, Manager, Officer).
