Job Description:

The Production Supervisor oversees a production shift in an assigned process area. The shift supervisor must lead shop floor associates to ensure daily operational goals and metrics are met as required by the Process Manager/Leader in a safe and clean environment while producing a quality product. Shift hours are 3 PM - 11 PM, but for shift hand-off you are expected to arrive by 2:30 PM.

Brief Summary of Primary Duties:

  • Communicate and administer Prysmian policies and procedures

  • Ensure a safe work environment at all times

  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues

  • Coordinate between different groups such as logistics and maintenance

  • Resolve conflicts on the shop floor

  • Perform necessary clerical activities such as time or record keeping

  • Drive quality and cost saving initiatives

  • Drive Lean principles

  • Guide, mentor, and lead shop floor associates

  • Meet or exceed cost saving or quality goals set for the process area

Specific Skills/Training Required

  • Ability to train on 1st shift, 8 hours, Mon - Fri

  • Computer skills & ability that allow them to enter data, use email, and basic office programs

  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently

  • Ability to use written work instructions to complete task

  • Ability to use measuring equipment –including but not limited to OD tapes, calibers, micrometers,

  • Hazardous Waste Training

  • First Responders Training

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, specifically with VSM, 5S, and/or other six sigma or lean tools strongly preferred

  • High School/GED Diploma required

  • Associate, or bachelor’s degree in business preferred

Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:

  • Safety shoes and glasses required when working in the production areas

  • Hearing Protection required in posted areas

  • Other PPE as required for the job

  • Ability to stand 8-12 hours on concrete floors
