Eldon C. Stutsman, Inc. is hiring motivated individuals who can apply crop protection products and assist in our agronomy and grain operations for our customers in Hills, Iowa and Wellman, Iowa.

About the Job:

T he custom applicator is responsible for delivery and application of liquid and dry fertilizer, NH3, ag lime and crop protection products. In addition, this position performs maintenance and makes repairs and/or adjustments to keep fertilizer application equipment in operating order. Our applicators typically work 7:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday. We are open on Saturdays from 8:00AM to 12:00PM. O vertime may be required seasonally with overtime paid at 1.5X the regular hourly rate .

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares proper truck reports and records, including truck maintenance records as required

  • Maintain organized application/spray records

  • Assists with inventory control through adhering to established procedure and reports

  • Understand the capabilities and limitations of equipment (floaters, RoGators, tool bars, etc.)

  • Provide prompt, professional, and courteous customer service

  • Assist grain, agronomy, and feed operations departments as needed

  • Attends scheduled training as requested

  • Maintain clean, safe working environment

  • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and demonstrated experience in agricultural education, or combination of education and work experience

  • Prior experience in operating large equipment is required

  • Must have or be able to obtain a commercial pesticide applicators license with 1A, 1B, and 1C endorsements

  • Class A CDL preferred with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements is preferred, or the ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.

  • Must have Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Must have all application licenses as required by State and Federal Agencies

  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours in-season

  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

    Working Conditions:

  • Sitting, standing and/or walking for extended periods of time.

  • Repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Manual dexterity: the ability to quickly move your hands, use hands and arms to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.

  • PPE Mandatory for this position: safety shoes and protective eyewear.

  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds frequently
