UPMC RN/Telehealth Triage/Lead in Williamsport, Pennsylvania

Provides direction, coaches, teaches, and precepts other employees to ensure optimal team performance during a shift. Assists with administrative responsibilities required to operate the department, including, staffing and scheduling, maintaining professional interactions and assisting with follow-up on issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in continuous improvement activities related to optimum comprehensive and safe patient-centered care within the Nurse Triage Department.

  • Assume responsibility for personal development and education.

  • Performs all functions of the RN/Telehealth Triage position

  • Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures.

  • Provides direction, coaches, teaches, and precepts other service partners to ensure optimal team performance during a shift; provides input to management on staff performance

  • Sets staff assignments for the shift and ensures individuals have appropriate work breaks; follows predetermined staffing and scheduling guidelines to manage to volumes

  • Services as a liaison to physicians and administration

  • Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation while actively present; makes recommendations to management for improving processes or workflow, improving customer service that leads to increased quality, or improving the efficiency of the work.

  • Bachelors in Nursing required.

  • Current employees must be actively enrolled in a BSN program and on track to graduate within 1 year of hire.

  • External candidates must have BSN at hire.

  • 3 years experience as a staff RN required, and 1-2 years of Nurse Triage experience required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 34

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required

  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
